I'm not 100% sure about the diameter of the rods - they don't appear to
be 6mm but I have difficulty deciding if they are 5 or 5.5 mm.
- The connection between all 4 leading edge spars are via external ferrules.
- The central 2 leading edge spars are some kind of extremely bendy fibre glass as in flight the Skydancer almost bends double.
- The vertical spars have a standard vinyl end cap on the bottom
(where they insert into a fabric pocket on the back rear of the sail.
The tops fit straight into standard delta leading edge/spreader
fittings on the leading edge (these are hidden inside the dacron
itself).
Bridle
The Skydancer has no bridle - instead there are
loops of bridle line about 10.5cm long that attach to the top and
bottom of the vertical spars (via a larks head knot) and pass through
holes in the sail. The flying lines simply attach to these loops (again
with a larks head knot).
